QUINCE CONSULTING

Advancing Equity Through Relationships

ABOUT ME

Katharine Quince, MA

I am a Social Justice Consultant and award-winning Diversity & Community Studies scholar. Committed to advancing equity and inclusion through relationships, I offer facilitation and coaching infused with 20+ years of mindfulness practice. I believe race and gender equity work require engaging in brave dialogue, practicing empathy and self-compassion, refusing binaries, making space for uncertainty, and orienting oneself as a lifelong learner. I am led to this work by my heart and strive to always lead from my heart. My own learning and ability to guide others are bolstered by the love and efforts of an ever-growing community of Black, brown, and white anti-racist, feminist, and queer activists, leaders, and scholars.

I am certified in Executive Leadership and was a founding member of the Oregon Women’s Equity Coalition. Currently, I volunteer at Portland Friends of the Dhamma as the annual fund advisor and member of the Dismantling White Supremacy Workgroup. I’m also a published poet and a parent. I am a white, cis, bisexual woman.

COACHING, FACILITATION, & EVALUATION

I specialize in working with individuals and small groups. Whether you're looking for a partner in your personal equity journey, or your organization's journey, I am here to provide tailored guidance, tools, and resources. For group work, I collaborate with other dynamic and compassionate facilitators to create brave, committed, and diverse learning communities.

AFFINITY GROUPS

White folks have a lot of work to do to uncover the ways racism shows up in us, and that work is best done in community. I facilitate white affinity groups in workplaces, spiritual communities, etc., using a combination of learning experiences, personal sharing, group discussion, and mindfulness exercises. My approach is always intersectional and grounded in a practice of unconditional love; James Baldwin, Ruth King, bell hooks, Kristin Kneff, and Chris Germer are my guiding lights.

Having Katharine as a white ally in this work has been life changing. In her, I have found someone I'm proud to link arms with to move the dials on social justice and racial inclusion work.

Thank you for your hard work, for changing lives and opening eyes. For giving me the tools and the language that help me express the hurt and outrage I feel, in a way that brings more awareness and isn’t just a mumbled roar. I so needed this work, and you all have done it in the most profound, delicate way.
